No. 301: Straddling the Car

Inside the car, I figured no one would see me as long as the doors were closed. But when I noticed the windows weren’t fogged up, my heart suddenly started racing—I realized someone might be catching a glimpse of me from outside. Today, I found myself sitting on the seat and gripping the steering wheel in a slightly embarrassing pose. Seeing myself in the rearview mirror felt strangely fresh, and I couldn’t help but keep adjusting my angle over and over. The moment a car pulled up next to me, my heart nearly leapt out of my chest, but the driver just drove by without a second glance. That indifference actually felt nice, and it made me want to do it even more. The sense of seclusion that comes from being in such a small space only heightens this feeling of embarrassment. If you ever see someone moving around in a car in a weird pose in a parking lot, that might just be me. You can laugh if you want, but please just look the other way.
