No. 256: a Walk in the Park in Open-crotch Pants

It’s a sunny day at the park, and the sunlight streaming through the trees feels wonderful. On a beautiful day like this, I feel like I can be just a little bolder than usual… So I took the plunge and tried walking slowly in an embarrassing outfit I’d never normally wear. On the lawn, next to the playground equipment, in front of a bench. No matter where I stood, the sunlight shone down on me, and every pose looked like it could be a picture—which was actually a little scary. Every time I heard voices playing in the distance or birds chirping, I’d look around nervously, thinking, “No one’s watching me, right?” But strangely enough, laughter welled up inside me before any embarrassment could set in. Even though no one else cared, I had this illusion that I was the center of the world. Can you feel this sense of freedom too? If anyone had passed by, they would’ve surely thought I was weird. Still, there’s a part of me that wants to do it again.
